It can't hurt but I've never personally had any improvement after changing a fuel filter except on a really old truck that had lots of rust in the tank. Can't say I've heard of too many people who had it actually solve any issue either.
Part of the reason I say this is because there is a filter sock on the inlet of the fuel pump and any big crap gets filtered out back there..
If you have any sort of decent obd2 scanner or a obd2 wifi or Bluetooth dongle you can used torque pro or similar apps so you can read the rail fuel pressure with it.
