Intermittent shaking
I have an 06 f150 and I’m having issues with the truck violently shaking, almost feels like death wobble but the steering wheel stays solid. It’s intermittent and doesn’t happen at all time but does randomly show up. It starts off with the rear end bouncing and then the entire truck will shake like crazy. Also sways all over the place at highway speeds. Truck rolled over 200k miles literally 5 minutes before this issue started. Pretty bad about 70 mph but it’s at its worst at 45-55 mph
Any ideas?

I'm assuming it primarily happens when you're trying to gas it a bit and put the engine under load? If so, you have a misfire. Pull the the plugs from cylinders 1 and 5 to check them. If they are questionable, replace all 8. Whatever you do, don't hit the gas harder while the shaking (read misfire) is happening because you'll fry your catalytic converter.
I had this same issue on a truck I'd bought and it ended up being the spark plugs. I believe they were the second set the truck had. It was a miracle that they were firing at all considering how they looked. If there is any question, you could also go to the store, ask to see what a new Motorcraft plug looks like and compare the two. If you search "Shaking" and "45 MPH" on this forum, 95% of the causes will be misfires.
Could have a brake caliper seizing, uneven tire wear (bubbles), loose bearing (which is fine because the front hub assembly/rotor, despite others opinions, is a great idea in my opinion). Check your spark plugs first though. If there is any question as to their age or condition once you pull them, go ahead and change them out. Just make sure to not use anti-seize on the threads when replacing because that gives false torque readings. The right torque should be turn to stop, then a half turn more.

No problem. Not a mechanic FYI, just have some experience in troubleshooting my own truck (thank god for this forum), and my fiance's CX-9 (I despise Mazda's because there is no large forum of DIY'ers for the CX-9. A ton a suburbanites who have more success editing PDF's, which I also happen to be really good at).
Be sure to keep the thread updated...in case I have a similar issue crop up and it's not spark plugs.
