Alright 5.4 geniuses, here's the deal. 2004 fx4, 135,000 miles. Just recently had a p0012 code. Changed out bank 2 vct solenoid. CEL is off for 2 days, code returns. Same code. Order parts to replace phasers, chains, guides, tensioners. Code clears. 2 days lets code returns. Skip a head 10 days and the code comes and goes every 2-4 days.
Has anyone ever had an intermittent failure like this?
Should I go ahead and replace timing/cam parts?
I have searched the forum and google without finding something specific, I'd be glad to search and read again if someone knows a search query to get results that are pertinent.
