any ideas on how to take out fine scratch on interior chrome on a larait around the center console gear shift. thanks

The problem you are going to have is that this piece is plastic; chrome plating over plastic.

Short of trying some super fine polishing compound (the white stuff normally used for clear coat), you won't have much success.

How deep is the scratch?

the scratch is not deep at all just surface marks. looks like braclett or watch just scratched it alittle. or should i try to find a replacement part

A replacement part is the best way to go.

it might be cheaper to have it rechromed. rather than buy a new piece.

Just take it off, sand it and repaint it. I painted mine black because I was tired of the glare it put off on a bright sunny day.
