Interior Lights randomly come on while driving
@Jmess
i have an 08 and i occasionally have phantom dome light on/off issue. seems to typically occur in first minute or two of driving. I have always “assumed” that it is due to failing cluster (also have phantom brake light on cluster)
can you provide more detail on what you did with your dimmer? if you replaced it with something other than stock switch, do you have link or part number ? if you had to modify dash can you post detaiks/pics?

Hey.. I bought a salvage title '06, no pics, no receipts, was put back together nicely.
Took a few months (I don't drive much) to realize the dash lights were all the way down to 'off'.
Ran em up, and had a pretty dash at night!
Only to find out my battery was draining. Found out by accident (security cams on house) that ALL my lights were coming on for NO reason intermittently in my driveway! It got worse with the lights coming on while driving. The resolution for the next 8 years: Turn the dash lights OFF LOL....
I (thought) I resoldered the entire instrument cluster twice, but problem persisted.
Third time was a charm. Found a bad solder joint on a transistor on the instrument cluster.
Get a good pair of magnifying glasses (with a light). You should find it.
It (is) an intricate job, so best to find a YOU-Toob video to become certified!
You will need to fully disassemble the instrument cluster... removing all of the pointer needles off the servo motors....
Make sure you mark them with painters tape and a marker, and be careful not to press them back on too hard.
TADA! DASH LIGHTS!! WHEEEEE
And ZERO issues with interior lights coming on!

I have the same issue with the dome/cargo light going on and off on its own and the phantom brake light. For those not wanting to DIY, I plan on sending mine in for repair. There are several people on eBay that will re-flow the solder on the entire board eliminating cold solder joints. This can fix multiple electrical gremlins. You do have to ship it to them for repairs so if it is a daily driver that may not work for you. I found a cheaper one with good reviews. $90 includes a lifetime warranty and free return shipping(you do have to pay to ship it to them). https://ebay.us/m/QBuq8u
