Default Intake Manifold

The thermostat housing is leaking on my 2007 F150, 4.6. Looks like I need to replace the whole manifold. If I'm going to do that want to get a few more HP if possible. Did not find any performance manifolds for the 2007 F150 4.6, but several for the 4.6 for the mustang. Anyone know if you can upgrade the intake manifold, and if so who makes it?

Hi. I have same engine (08). Planning to replace mine too. Did tons of reading on it. Although I did find a few people that said Dorman unit is acceptable, consensus seems to be to spend extra money to get the Ford oem intake.

Fordtechmakeuloco mentions on one of his videos that he does not recommend whatever the ford racing/performance line is called.

I dont think you can (easily) use a manifold not specifically made for the 07-08 W 4.6.

Ps: curious. Although it’s probably smart to replace intake regardless, how do you know yet that you “have” to (before pulling it off)?

because it it leaking at the thermostat housing. Most mechanics says it’s because the manifold has warped.
