Default Instrument Cluster

I just bougt a new 2008 F-150 XLT yesterday. I really wanted to buy the FX2 Sport version but the rebates and incentives weren't as good.

I really like the instrument Cluster in the FX2 version alot more than I like the XLT. The space and shape look to be about the same but the layout is worlds apart.

My question is: Can I simply change them out or are they incompatable?

If I can change them out - Is there somewhere that I can buy it other than the dealer?

the lariat gauges are prettty sweet too. I'm a big fan of the white face though.

What's the main difference between the xlt and the fx2? The shifter in the middle? Don't you loose a cup holder going that route?

Actually from what I can tell - they both have 6 cup holders. 2 in back 2 in consol and 2 pull out of dash.

The main 2 interior differences that I noticed is the shifter on the column (XLT)vs. consol (FX2 Sport) and the instrument clusters ASIDE FROM BUCKET SEATS (FX2 Sport) vs. SPLIT BENCH.(XLT)

I can live with mine the way it is. I just like the instrument cluster better on the FX2 Sport. Although the Lariat is sharp too.

i wished i had white gauges. eventually i will but the dark back gauges cant be seen alot of times depending in what kind of light you are in. sometimes i have to just turn on running lights to see what is going on.
