Taylor,
where did you pull power from and what switch control did you use?

it is not super straight forward b/c its not a on or off function more a one for 10 sec then stop function.
as well the reverse is not a typical on off switch.

thanks

Hi Jeremy, my 07 STX had no wiring at all. I went to the junkyard and took the motor harness and cut it back as far as i could to save wire. I then took apart the dome light assembly containing the square trim and switch and cut that harness back. The 07 square trim switch will be different than the 13 because of manufacturing changes but another user posted the 13 trim in a post above. I grounded the circuit on a seat bolt bracket. I originally took power from the fuse box but the fuse tap made the fuse slot loose so i ran a power wire to the battery through the firewall. The first 3 photos below i received from another user explaining the wiring diagram. He and I both had 2wd trucks and had a round coin holder that we removed to put the switch in (after cutting it round). 4WD trucks dont have the coin holder there they have a 4wd switch. The reason we had to use the coinslot was because we did not have the fancy overhead dome trim. The last 4 pics are my truck. They show the crappy overhead dome light for the whole truck (i only have 1 instead of a front and rear) the other pics show you the trim piece i took from the junkyard and how it used to fit together. I just did this whole mod in depth so if you have any more questions let me know. Also the switch on my truck is still square because i haven't trimmed it yet.

When it came today, I popped down the overhead center console and removed the part in the third pic.

The fourth pic is of the box w/part number of the switch.

And the last pic is the switch installed...and it works perfectly! I just need to find the appropriate trim piece that goes around the switch now. All the wiring was there. From what I was reading in the owners manual, the defroster switch for the mirrors is also the switch for the rear window. Now that it's milder weather, I'm going to have to wait to see if that is true later this year.

Other side notes about this mod;

That butyl weatherstripping is a MESS to work with. You have to get all the old stuff off the truck before attempting to put on the new. It took HOURS to clean it off the truck & off the replacement power slider (I bought it from a salvage yard, and they obviously didn't clean it off).

Once cleaned off, I bought at NAPA a 15' roll of new butyl for the install, and I used the 3/8" size. After I got it installed, we had rain for a couple of days--sometimes downpours--with no leaks.

Hopefully this helps someone else considering this "mod". Let me know if you have any questions.
Where did you get the switch from and how much? All I seem to find online is the one with sunroof switches, I just want the rear window switch like that.
