Default Installing LED Strips

Hi all -

Bought two 24" blue LED strips from Advance Auto, as well as a blue LED switch. I want to install them so that they illuminate the driver and passenger foot areas. I want them to come on when the marker lights are turned on, but I want to have the ability to shut them off via the switch, as well.

I am not an electrical guy, but I have done several head units and speakers, most with directions.

Can someone explain (in plain terms, please) the best way to wire this up?

Much thanks in advance for any help...

well for them to turn on with the marker lights i think the easiest way to do that is to run your positive off the led to the park in you head light, run the wire through the firewall where your feet would go on the back wall is a nice glob of wires run through a rubber grommet (thats where i run my wires from engine bay to cab) and then pull your headlight out, and get a blue heat shrink connector or solder it whichever you prefer, then i think (dont quote me on this part) but i think to get it switched you would just splice that hot wire between the headlight and the led strip and run a wire to the positive of your switch.. not sure on that. i have my led interior hooked to a switch right now but i am switching to go with my subs like the other interior lights i have. heres a pic to give some ideas.

You can wire them into your ignition. What I did was find a "live" fuse when the ignition is on and run like a 16G wire to that spot. Then squeeze the wire in that fuse spot and I have never had a problem in any of my trucks that I have done that to. Been doing it since I was 13 by the way.

Hope that all makes sense to you lol.
