6.5 bed has 3 sets of these per side, 6 sets total.

I looking to be able to attach some things to side of bed, and want to know more about these sets of holes:

1) what were they originally intended for?

2) I’m considering adding rivnuts, but assume tapping threads would also be possible. Thoughts/suggestions ?

EDIT/ADD: these pairs of holes are along sidewall of inside of truck bed. Front, middle, rear, along both sides.

To clarify, these holes are on the side walls (inside) of the truck bed.

Pretty sure those are for the factory tiedowns. Wonder why you don't have any? I know they have to be removed and reinstalled if you do a drop in bedliner or any spray in.

I have the factory tie downs. There are 4 of those, lower, in each corner
