I do believe I have the infamous phaser tick / knock and my truck will sporadically shake / rattle while driving. Is this from the phasers or a whole different issue all together? If I don't get this fixed, what are the results / consequences? Thanks for any help!

Edit: I haven't looked at my RMP's or MPH while the shaking is happening, but next time it does I'll update.

 

shake/ rattle at certain speed? Does the engine light come on and flash? Mine is behaving much as you describe. Can you be more descriptive about what the tick sounds like. Mine sounds much like an exhaust leak when it is cold but then quiets and is more like spark tick when warmed up. I also have the shake but I was attributing mine to a possible misfire.

 

When I start my truck it just sounds like a diesel so I'm feeling like its most likely my phasers. The shaking is random, and happens occasionally while I'm driving. It almost feels like my truck is out of alignment, but it stops after a matter of seconds and last no longer than 30.
