Default Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading

Hi there !

Was wondering if anyone encountered that issue before: I get a low fuel light at 1/4 tank now and when I fill it up, it goes past the 'F'. What is causing that ? It use to be fine b4. I have an 04.

The fuel sending unit attaches to your fuel pump. It measures the amount of gas left in your tank. You have to pull the fuel pump to replace it.

My gas gauge has seemed off since i put 35s on. Sorry to thread jack OP but can larger tires cause this or would it be the sending unit. Mine is the exact same as what the op described

Well, your truck sits higher so the fuel level float is higher now too. It should read more gas than there actually is because of that.
J/K! The real answer is "no".

Try putting some injector cleaner with your next fill up. There could be a build up of sulfur on the sending unit contacts causing the false reading.

Which product would you recommand ? I'll give it a try b4 going for that sending unit. Harness was replaced not too long ago. If I knew, I'd replace everything one time !
