Ignition Coils etc
Who does everyone use for new parts?
I've got a misfire and it follows the coil.
As I've just relocated, what's a good brand for ignition coils?
Thanks

Pretty much everybody here is going to suggest you stay with Motorcraft parts all the way.
But COPs are the NUMBER ONE un-necessarily replaced part on this generation truck. They 'seldom' fail. I know you said your misfire followed the coil. But you can replace boots and springs on ALL eight a half dozen times for the cost of ONE COP. And they (or corrosion on tip contact or dirty contacts on primary clip) are ten times more likely to be the cause than the COP is.
Also - keep keenly in mind the operational difference between the two family of misfire codes (P035x - and the P030x). It will help you track down the source.

Amusingly - I've never experienced nor read on here about a BUMB brand of COP Boots, even though they almost _always_ fail before COPS - about which you will read about plenty of brands to stay away from!
I might add, if there is ANY question about your plugs (which should be good clean, new SP546 Motorcraft),change them too.
Good luck

'Oops', I just checked your profile. I assumed we're talking about a 5.4L here based on previous post

On my 5.4 3v, I replaced all boots twice due to a misfire, but I got them super cheap from RockAuto.com. I used the Car Quest brand first, and currently have....AC Delco....... I know...I know...
I did replace my COPs a while ago using the cheap Amazon ENA brand. They've been good for 15k miles. They were about 40 bucks for all 8...your results may vary.
