Default I want to convert Non-LS 3.55 Axle to a LS 4.10

From the factory, I have an open differential with 3.55 gears. I really want to have a limited slip axle with 4.10 gears. What would be my most cost effective way to go about this? I really need the input. Thanks!

im going to be doing something similar to my 2014 FX2 with 3.31 to a 3.73 LS.. what you need is a Tru-Track Limited Slip Differential, the 4.10 gears, OE bearings, and shims.. if you know of a shop that can do it for you, you might only have to buy the gears and diff online.. expect the cost to be around $1,000

Other than buying 4.10 ring and pinion gears, and obviously the bearings, all I need for LS is a tru trac differential?

That's not as bad as I thought. Still a little pricy but not too bad. I wonder if it would be cheaper to find a factory LS 3.73 rear from a junkyard and then add 4.10 gears.

How do you know it is a 9.75" rear end? I don't see his truck in his sig. Oh wait the 04-08's were 9.75"?

I have a 12 bolt so I would assume it is 9.75

Who makes good 4.10 gears for a 9.75"? It seems like most of the aftermarket support is oriented towards the 8.8"

You know how to set up a differential right? Look at some Youtube videos. It is not for the novice. I would find a good offroad shop that's been around and has a good reputation. They should install 4:10's all the time for those large tires. They'll give you a good warranty too if they are reputable.

I have a shop that can do it for me. I do most things myself, but I don't want to mess with this. I'm going to buy the LS and gears to bring to him.
