Default I need help! with tpms programming.

I bought new sensors for my wifes expedition 2007 (same as my 07 f150). These are for her winter rims so i dont want to go to the dealer every 6 months. I dont have a sync tool. I may buy one though. I keep finding guys that mention using a magnet instead, but have no luck synchronizing with a magnet. Is the magnet thing a myth or does it actually work. Thanks for the replies.

I assume your talking about band sensors...what would a magnet do for them ?? when I replaced mine I just drove a couple miles and bingo all was good.. I know theres a re-set tool my owners manual talks about it...don't know if its magnetic though...thought they were RF...may be wrong.

When i first installed the tpm sensors the light went away for after a couple hundred miles or so. But couple weeks after the light came back on and has been on ever since. I assumed its a program thing. I was told a few times that once i got the truck into learn mode, you just put a magnet to sensor to teach it starting from LF tire then go cw around the truck. I have had no luck with this.

What are you going to teach it with a magnet... you may have a bad sensor...that's why your light came back on...

I bought a tpms reader. I can read the individual sensors so I know they work yet I still can't get the truck to recognize them.
