Default I found My Rattle

Hello All,

Awhile back I started a thread about my rattle (it was more like a ticking sound without a consistent beat) that I would hear above 45mph. It was driving my 'friggin crazy. Yesterday, my nephew and I found it. We drove around with my nephew in the passenger seat with a stethoscope. He felt that it was coming from the center of the windshield ????

Underneath the cowl screen sections, is a foam weather-strip. On the passenger side section, about 6" from the center, the foam became unglued from the cowl screen and became hard. I guess at 45mph plus, there's enough air flow in there to cause that petrified section of the foam strip to fly around at "tap, tap, tap" the bottom of the windshield.

After removing the cowl screen (PITA), replacing the foam and re-installing, the ticking sound is gone.

Just though I'd share..

What year? There was a service bulletin on my 2010 about this back in 2011. They had to pull the windshield and replace the insulation.
