I'm guessing they are not lighting up because they are a translucent red plastic; the blue LED color may not "punch through" this red plastic. To change their color might require them being changed to a different translucent color; I don't know of anyone making different colored plastic needles for our gauges.

Perhaps a different LED would light up the red needle other than the blue ones used in the picture.

actually the needles aren't in this picture. This picture was also taken with my lights dimmed somewhat. the needles are harder to see yea i'll admit it but no it's not impossible haha. got the LEDs from radioshack. Bucko's right that they don't light up exactly like they did before, but they're still visible IMO.

::sidenote:: i was halfway done with the write-up and then i stupidly closed out of my internet so it'll have to wait till after i get out of school sorry guys

dont worry jon, mine is a 4.6 and i dont have a tachometer either. of course i dont have power windows or locks either...

that's what i was gonna ask... i figure if ford doesn't "think you paid for it" they're not gonna give it to ya hahaha you can add one on... my truck just had to come with one since it's a manual lol

OMFG me too, i don't have power locks or anything. I so is mine a 4.6? I remember a friend of mine popping the hood when i first got it (he has a lariat) and he said mine was 5.6.

**** i might as well save up for a new truck.
