How to upgrade steering?
Hello, I'm new to the f150 game. I just bought a 2007 F150 STX 4.2 6cyl. Immediately after buying I bought new (heavy) all terrains 17s. Now when I drive there's some sway and some play in the steering wheel. How can I upgrade my steering that can handle bigger heavier tires and eliminate sway? Thanks.
I had them put on professionally from the stock tires/rim so I’m sure they put air in them to standard. The truck isn’t 4x4 so idk why the sway bar would be an issue. The swaying and weight I feel wasn’t an issue before swapping the tires. Im asking if there is something I can buy to upgrade steering performance or something that can increase stability or anything like that.
Yes you do have sway bar with bushings . You may have some worn steering /front end parts .Link etc . You could have a bad steering rack or one that needs adjustment .
You also have some steering universal links that usually go bad and become stiff .
Pull your tires and take a look after you wiggle tire to see if it feels loose /wobbly . You've got all kinds of front end parts to check .

The kits that come with everything you need are junk. You don’t need to upgrade your steering. The truck likely has some worn out front end parts that you need to figure out or have someone look at.
and don’t trust a tire shop to inflate them properly. You said heavy tries but didn’t say the actual size. Are they p metric or LT?
