Default how to turn of headlights when idling?

Hey everyone, I just picked up an F150 07 Lariat.... My question is if I'm idling waiting for someone, day or night how do I turn off all the lighting?

I know when I switch the light control to off the running lights turn off but the headlights just go dim. How do I make them completely turn off?

Cheers

Interesting. I'm pretty sure when I turn my headlight switch to off, everything turns off.

You have the daytime running lights, is it a canadian truck? if it is they cannot be turned off without first putting the emergency brake on before you start the truck. i'm not 100% sure this will work on this truck but it has worked on many of my rigs before.

Im in canada and i hated my daytime running lights so i just pulled the fuse or i think its a relay. Now i can turn them on and off when ever i choose to. Open you hood and open the fuse box. Pull out the square fuse 5L3T-AA and bingo no running lights.

Are there two fuse panels on Canadian models???

I ask only because my 2005 F150 has it's fuse panel located in the passenger side right kick panel.

Perhaps Ford located a second relay panel in the engine compartment for daytime running lights, and other issues?

He's talking about the aux relay box in the engine compartment, all the trucks have it. The owners manual talks about it immediately after it goes through the fuse panel down by the passenger foot area.

Bucko, in your 2005 owners manual I think its on page 230

How is this link not a sticky already?

I figured he meant the relay box; it was my way of correcting his post.

As to a sticky for the owners manual, a great idea, but I think you know that it would get passed right up, and questions would continue to get asked that are answered simply in the owners manual. Pointing this out in future posts and pointing to this thread would be done over and over, just like we do with tire and rim size questions that come up once or more each month, even with an excellent sticky that LovetheTide put together.

But we can dream....
