Default How to remove powder coat

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of how to remove powder coat i bought some nfab steps but they are bubbling in rust wanna strip and prep and paint again

You can try a heavy duty stripper...but powder coat is baked on

Media blast it with corn or walnut shell...may have to use glass, but walnut is pretty abrasive.

Brake fluid will take it off. Best to let it soak for overnight. Then powerwash the powdercoat right off. .

If the brake fluid doesn't work, try some aircraft remover you can get it at most parts stores.

Brake fluid worked for me. I did it on my steps too. Just put them on some cardboard and keep them wet for a couple of hours and scrape it off. Comes off easy.

There are solvents and strippers to remove, which I would suggest. You can blast or sand it off, but the heat from the friction turns it kind of gummy.

Be mindful that same can cause damage to metals.
