Default how much time do i got doc?

i just recently purchased my very own 2004 f150 lariat. problem is after my first oil change i got the diesel sound. and in the last 1500 miles it has gone from barely noticable to sounding like a cummins! ( a little dramatic) anyways i am just trying to figure out how long i have mefore an overhaul is in order. i did a tune jst before the oil and it was running great. still is its just really annoying. i had a yellowish foam surrounding the oil fill cap not sure what that means! any thoughts would really help!

Yellowish foam is from short trips in the cold, not enough time for the oil to heat up and burn the condensation off.

Nah, almost everyone of us get's it too. Even my mom's 2V 5.4 in her truck has it.

After my 1st oil change was when mine started acting up. I'm guessing the previous owner put real thick oil in it to cover up the sound. I ended up doing a timing overhaul within a month of buying the truck.

I would give yourself a weekend. It isn't a hard or an expensive job, just very time consuming.
