Default How much to replace A/C?

Just wondering what ballpark cost would be if I need to have it fixed....Seems to be blowing warm air out of the A/C the last few days. It's a 2007 5.4

Thank you for any feedback!

Jason

Depends.

I spend $1600 at the dealer a couple years ago. Needed a new compressor, orifice tube, and and bunch of other stuff.

The labor was what made it cost so much.

I would suggest finding a local automotive air conditioning specialist and getting a quote.

Having people speculate without really knowing what's wrong won't help you much.

Do you know for sure it has to be replaced and isn't just low on Freon? Go to a shop and have them test it, first. I did my own labor. 300 in parts and about 6 hours. That was compressor, O-Tube, accumulator/drier, PAG oil.

How is $300 right? Vacuum pump and manifold set would be $150-200 and freon another $50.

Evacuating the system is usually free if you let them keep the freon.
