Im 16 and minding wanting to save all the money I can, you think it's a good idea to try and knock the dents in my bumper out? If not, hunt me up a nice bumper from a salvage yard or something. The actual bed I feel like I should leave alone and let it get fixed the right way.

no that bumper well not look right if you try to beat it out...you may get lucky at a JY but i would just turn it into insurance and have it replaced with a new one

I have a dent in the same spot on my truck and same color lol. My bumper is hitting the bed and its rusting because the paint is flaking away. Seems like the previous owner backed up into a light pole or something judging by the dent.

Anyways, I plan on removing the bumper, plastidip or bedlining the bottom area all the way around the truck like you see on many, and probably build a heavy duty bumper. Might be something to think about and a fun little project. I have been waiting for someone to rear-end me so that they can pay for it but it hasn't happened over the 3 years.

just have them paint the lower on your bed if your trying to do it on the cheap. its not really hacking to do it that way just cheaper. theres a nice body line to break off of a decent painter will be able do it and you will never know it was there. ive done it tons of times. whats the point of painting the whole bedside and adding more material thats not needed

Thanks for yalls help. As much as I'd like for my truck to be fixed soon, my dad says it's gonna be a while before we can fix it.
