How many miles do you have on your truck?

I recently bought my first F-150. Previously, I only drove Toyotas and Nissans. My uncle has 540K on his Tacoma (original engine). I saw some threads in the other forum sections that answered this question, but didn't see one in the 2004-2008 forum. I currently have 76K on my truck and plan on putting about 25K per year on the truck.

07cruiser 10-17-2013 11:01 AM

I have 149K on my 07' with zero issues so far.

Jay215 10-17-2013 11:03 AM

135k on my 08 with no probs.

Ravent25 10-17-2013 11:08 AM

Miles

252k but its due for a relacement engine, bottom end noise along with phaser noise.. been a great truck, well worth the price of a replacement engine.

jkurtz04 10-17-2013 11:09 AM

163 on my 06 with no problems, 133 on my 10 with no problems

barriosman 10-17-2013 11:11 AM

Have you done a lot of heavy towing? What kind of engine is it?

Storm Chasing Ford 10-17-2013 06:59 PM

138k miles and on Original Engine, Tranny, etc!!! Thunder is a 2004 5.4L-V8 Fx4 Flareside and I love em!

With problems?

dstrbd488 10-18-2013 07:39 AM

215000 on my 2004 with no repairs until a few weeks ago it jumped time. Went ahead with a full rebuild since it was only about a thousand dollars more than the timing set installation. Could've done the chain myself but I work out of town Monday thru Friday so the time I get on the weekends is allocated to the family.

KiNgMiKe2121 10-18-2013 07:46 AM

Almost 106k on my 04...no issues yet

A full engine rebuild was that close to a timing chain replacement? Damn...

04 Lucho 10-18-2013 07:59 AM

184,462 miles on mine still going strong. No major issues

D-dude 10-18-2013 09:02 AM

Elephant 10-18-2013 09:56 AM

Rob07f150 10-18-2013 10:30 AM

I have an 07 4.6 with 186000 miles and it runs like a champ

barriosman 10-19-2013 01:17 PM

I think a mileage "check in" would make a good STICKY. Just saying...

iVictim 10-19-2013 02:00 PM

125k on my 07 with no issues so far.

As long a as the maintenance is kept up, these things can run hundreds of thousands of miles. I plan on keeping mine for the next 5ish years or until around 250k miles.

PJB 10-19-2013 10:00 PM

128k on my '06. So far the biggest issue was the rearend bearings going bad at 93k.

CPT150 10-19-2013 10:09 PM

05 super 10-19-2013 10:51 PM

Well I cashed in some favors with a buddy and he pulled some strings with the engine shop but in a nut shell yes. It wound up being a little more because I went ahead and replaced some things that I could have held off on like the vct selenoids and a few other things but all in all I pretty happy with the end results

Fish's-F150 10-20-2013 12:41 AM

Just bought my first ever F150. 2008 with 53,000 miles. :gunsmilie:

Congrats! Good luck. Read as much as you can... I have never owned an F-150...just foreign trucks. F-150s are real trucks. They need real maintenance. I learn more every time I log on here.

AwsumPrankFarva 10-20-2013 03:43 AM

Recently purchased an 07 Screw with 130k miles. Runs like a champ so far.

kempt66 10-20-2013 08:11 AM

I to was a taco driver 250k when I got my f150. I choose the 4.6 over 5.4 due to all the constant trouble u read about them.

Patrick Boehm 10-20-2013 05:25 PM

2004 5.4 lariat

90467 miles. Not trouble free. Purchased with 71890 about two years ago.
spark plugs ( all broke off)
cam phasers
ball joint, front end both hubs rebuilt
seal in transfer case
replaced rusted up warped rotors.

5300 bucks or so. :(

Still like the pickup. :)
Previous owner obviously traded at the right time, and didn't fix anything.

streetassasin 10-20-2013 05:57 PM

87k on my 06, only had to change the oil and brake pads

08blackFX2 10-21-2013 12:27 PM

104k on my 08 FX2 Supercrew 4.6. Had all normal maintenance done on it. Fluids changed when they were supposed to be changed, Plugs done at 100k. Regular fuel treatments. Runs like a champ. Just wish it got better gas mileage.

Rear pinion seal
Blend door motor
Heater mode control
Vct solenoids
Vacuum pump assembly
Iwes
Hub assemblies
Check valves (2)
Hub actuators
Crank shaft sensor
Control arms ball joints tie rods
Synthetic oil changes and motorcraft filters
Regular maintenance

Coming up -
Shocks and struts
Pads/rotors
Transmission pan drop with new fluid/filter
New diff fluid

raduque 10-28-2013 04:03 AM

131,249. I put a thousand miles in two days at the beginning of the month, and I'm about to put another 500 on the 3rd towing a small (~2000lb) trailer.

Spark plugs @ 102,000
Oil every 5 thousand miles

Probably needs suspension checked, but when I had a flat replaced (for free) at Discount, they checked my alignment and said it was perfect. I think I need some friction modifier added to my diff, I've also got an evap system problem (CEL, p0455 and sometimes p0457), but the truck otherwise runs and drives fine.

That's a lot of stuff! Do you do a lot of heavy hauling?

No i only haul a few times a year. The suspension is from my 35s I'd assume and the cam/timing job was from the non revised parts I'd say manufacturer defect lol

Regarding the defect...probably true. My 07' doesn't sound like a diesel yet. I hope it stays that way. I proactively replaced the rotors and plugs/coils at 75K miles (120K Kilo). I plan to put at least 25K miles a year on it.

TuscanyJC 10-28-2013 01:38 PM

I have a hair over 12k on my '06. It only had 6500 on it when I bought it 4-5 months ago.

DaveG99 11-13-2013 10:11 PM

142k on my 2005 fx4. It's currently in the shop getting the tranny rebuilt. Other than that it's been pretty good. Best thing about is that it's paid for! Next thing it needs is ball joints, tie rod ends, etc

DfwScrew 11-14-2013 12:21 AM

195k other than 2 battery's, shocks, ball joints, 1 hub and regular maintenace. It's held up pretty well.

milage

I have just over 91K on my '06 SCAB. The only thing I have ever done to it was change the filter/fluids at proper interval and a new set of tires. I hope to get over 200k out of it. So far so good.

bobkyle2 11-14-2013 02:29 AM

97k on my 08, Tons of issues in the first 50k .... Been trouble free since then! ...

4.2 V6, Tons of towing...3-5 times a week.

You haven't done the plugs yet with 91k on it? If your's is a V8 3V, get ready for some fun...

DaveG99 11-14-2013 08:28 PM

I had my plugs done at 105k miles at the dealer. Paid $400 and they didn't break any of them

FjacobXsmith4 11-14-2013 11:43 PM

115k on mine. Had to have the rear end rebuilt when I first got er but it was covered by the dealership. Hopin for many more miles out of her!

Wiscony 11-15-2013 01:10 PM

215k on my '04 5.4L

Phasers, Selonoids, cam position sensors @ 190k (Easier than I thought it would be)

Plugs and caps @ 195k ( Only broke 6)

Ball Joints and tie rods @ 205K

Passenger exhaust manifold @ 210k

Now I have the no power wants to fall on its face above 2k rpms. More than likely a plugged cat, stemming from before the plug change had a missing cylinder.

kerrybro 11-16-2013 06:57 AM

282 000 kms on mine and a little noisy when it gets close to an oil change but runs great. also the usual exhaust stud broke off but only noisy when it starts up and isn't getting louder so leave it alone.
