Default how long does the electrode tip last on a new plug?

I have now replaced 6 of my 8 plugs. 3 broke 3 didn't. anyways, every single one (that has come out of my truck) has the little electrode tip burned off it. If you know what a brand new plug looks like, you know what I mean. I'm just wondering if that little needle is supposed to burn off right away, or would it have been there for almost the life of the plugs. my truck has 95,000miles and so far they're gone on every one. wondering if that increased gap size was the reason for my slight miss at idol. which is now gone with my new plugs.

but does anyone know how many miles into a new set of plugs you could expect to get before that burns off? I finished pulling my plugs and yes every single one had the nipple burnt off. 95000 miles
