Default How to know when balljoints, tierods need replacing

I have an 04 with 87k miles on it and nothing has been replaced steering wise. The tires seem to be wearing even and the ride is good. I have noticed lately that when i hit any bumps I can feel something loose like rattling on the front left side. It does not make any noises, but i can feel it through the floor board, almost as if something is loose? Could this mean a shock, or more in line with the ball joints wearing down?

not sure on the tie rods maybe just grab them and see if you have any left to right play? But to test the wheel bearing jack up the tire, grab the tire at 12 and 6 and try to push the top in and out if its got play then its a wheel bearing. Here is a video how to check the lower balljoints https://www.f150forum.com/f33/how-ch...s-video-67310/

no problem. Oh to test the shocks. Take the truck off of the jacks and press down on the bumper, the truck should come back up to ride height with very little bounce, if it bounces 3 or more times replace the shocks.
