Default How to fix loose rearview Mirror

I have a 2005 F150 Lariat with the auto dimmer sensor on the mirror but the whole mirror vibrates at the smallest road bump (more than it should). I can't figure out how to tighten this up. It is loose because I can wiggle it but it won't come off. any help would be appreciated, it is very annoying while driving!

Yup, I know that issue. Mine did that until I epoxied it. Removed, put a dab of 2 part epoxy between mating surfaces, reinstalled. Been 4 months with no shaking. Probably not the correct fix, but that's just what I did.

shim it with a toothpick or something that you can stick in between the mount and mirror and break off clean.

Or...once inside the truck, recline your driver seat to a 135.15 degree position. Once positioned, take your right leg and compress your leg so that your knee has about 20 lbs of force into your chest. Then with both hands, grasp both sides of your truck's driver control seat. Aim your foot 12.5 degrees to the right and about 45 degrees up. Now this part is important. Shout obscenities at your mirror and only then in a quick forceful manor, extend your foot to make a perpendicular contact with your mirror with no less than 200 lbs of force. If done right your impact force should exceed 500 lbs and your loose mirror should be fixed.

I just got my windshield replaced and when I left the image was shaking horribly. The mirror itself wasn't noticibly shaking but everythig you could see was vibrating. Driving in a flat paved parking lot made it shake. They checked the epoxy to the window and it was good, then had the trim guy look at it. Apparently he tighted it down somehow and these auto dimming mirrors are a pain. It's a lot better. But now I don't remember if it was perfect before or if it still had the same little vibration in it when I hit bumps before....

That's hilarious, made my day. Especially, since my search for an answer has not been fruitful
