Default How does Ford notify owners?

I'm concerned that if my truck is affected by the airbag recall I won't be notified by Ford because I bought my truck used and I didn't purchase it from a Ford dealership. Anybody got any advice? Can a dealership determine this if I provide them with the VIN?

I recieved a letter in the mail about a month after I bought my truck regarding the brake booster recall... I guess the previous owner never got it fixed. Ford must get a notice or something when the vehicle changes ownership because I got this letter pretty quick. The only way Ford could have got my address is from my insurance/ownership papers.

I wouldnt worry about it too much... If its a big enough problem that Ford has issued a recall, they most likely wont forget to fix your truck. They need to make the effort to fix that and clearly they are.

I also got the brake booster hose recall notice in the mail and I bought my truck at a used car dealer, not a Ford dealer.

They actually sent me two notices because I didnt bother doing anything with it the first time. I finally got it done after the second one though.
