what I did was drained what I could from the fill hole from the side. Really just put a pan under the rear differential and take the bolts off. You will need to get a new gasket for it. I got that from O'reilys. I can't remember what I used.

First thing I did was make sure the fill hole plug would unscrew. Then I just removed the back cover and let all the lube drain out. I also wiped the excess that pooled up in the bottom. I used Permatex gasket maker (don't remember the exact number) and popped the cover back on and let it set up for an hour or so. Then I just pumped my new lube in the fill hole and added some friction modifier for my limited slip. Pretty simple really.

I took mine to the dealer (was lazy) and they used a siphon pump thru the fill plug.

Unscrew and remove cover. Clean surface and cover really good scotch pad helps a lot, then clean with rubbing alcohol then reattach with grey sealant designed for oil areas.
