What kind of interest would there be in a way to do this? I think I have a pretty good idea with a few bits of hardware to make something. I am working on getting the parts to try it out for myself... once I confirm it works I'd be looking into making more boxes.
Would it be preferred to trigger it on loss of ignition or setting it into park? The ignition would be the easiest... I think I can modify what I have to work with park if I can find a wire or source point that changes when shifting into park.

How? It seems that most do not have this capability... which is why we are discussing it

+1. An auto UNlock feature is really needed when you've got 4 doors... it really seems like an oversight that it's not there.
as a sidenote...I tried the hold the keyfob unlock+lock buttons thing...my lights did flash, but i'll be darned if I know what it changed about the truck -- anyone know what this is supposed to do?

Thanks Shotgun, that worked on my '04.
I've been watching this thread closely because I do lots of service work with my truck and am always having to fish my key fob out of my pocket after yanking on the pass. door and finding it locked. It's not exactly what the original posting was looking for but it'll work for my needs.
I'm loving how these newer trucks can be custom programmed for the needs of the owner, and for free too.

Ill take a look around and find a link, and what i mean by closing the circuit is by using a relay switch that closes and releases, so that the circuit doesnt stay closed if that makes sense. ill have to try a diagram give me a min.
