Default Horn won't work with key on

I have an unusual problem with my 2005 F150. With the key turned to the on position or with the truck running, the horn doesn't work. Turn off the ignition and it works. Please help, this one's driving me crazy!!

Do your turn signals work properly?

Someone else had this same problem, don't believe they got back to us. The horn must have two power sources. You have lost yours with key on. Check owners manual for fuse listings. Does every thing else work normally?

I may have solved this on my own. I opened the fuse box and pushed in on all the fuses. Some of them moved slightly and now the horn works. ???????????

Now the real solution to the problem. I had an extra key made at my Ford dealer. I programmed it per the owners manual and it will start the truck but with that key in the ignition, with the ignition on, the horn doesn't work. Using the 2 original keys that came with the truck the horn works fine.

I know at this point you must think I'm crazy. The horn once again does not work, with any key in the ignition and sometimes even with the key off or not in the ignition at all. Something in the steering wheel maybe???

Be patient with this one.
He hasn't been signed in for 10.5 years. It might take him a minute to see your message.

Probably best to post your own new thread in the appropriate area with a good description.
Thanks for finding and utilizing the old thread though, that couldn't have been an easy one to find!
