Default Hole in timing cover..

07 f150 screw 5.4 4x4 here. Recently had a serpentine belt and tensioner failure. When the tensioner failed it pushed the pulley through the timing chain cover. My place of employment who happens to be working on the vehicle says they can either replace the cover for an extra 7 hours of labor or just sand the spot down on both sides and apply JB weld. Any opinions on the JB weld fix? I am very limited on funds

JB Weld should be fine. I've used it on the bottom of an oil pan and it worked great.
