Default High frequency vibration-humming/buzzing

2006 F150 XLT 5.4. I have an intermittent high frequency vibration (humming/buzzing) that I can feel in the pedals at fairly low speeds, 15-40mph or so. It becomes unnoticeable at higher speeds and isn’t felt in the steering wheel or anywhere else. I’m wondering if it’s from the transfer case. The 4high also makes a clacking noise, 4low sounds normal as best as I can tell. Vibration is felt in 2 wheel as well as 4 high. The vibration went away today after I was testing the 4 wheel drive modes and hasn’t returned yet. Has anyone experienced this or have any thoughts on it?

most likely a wheel end, they need to be exercised every now and then to keep them greased. I SOTF on the way to work once a month or so, in and out of 4H 5 or 6 times. This also keeps the T case shift lever free.
