Default Hesitation when accelerating causing down shift.

Hey guys and gals-
I am new to forum and have purchased a 06 F150 Supercab 4X4 with 5.4 L
Truck has 15 K on it. My question is when traveling at 20 to 30 MPH and slightly accelerating the truck kind of falls on its face for a second. It always comes out of it and downshifts but there is a noticeable hesitation. Anybody have any experienced this before or read of someone in past having this problem. Thanks in advance for replies. Its good to be a member of this great forum.

I too have an '06 XLT extended cab with the 5.4L auto and it does the exact same thing around the same speed up the same hill. It seems to be down shifting, the rpm's are around 2,100 and after the "down shift" it is still at 2,100. Always bothered me but I assumed it was the converter locking or unlocking.

Yes, that's the torque converter. Get a tuner (programmer) and it will help a lot.
