When I shift into reverse my truck hesitates before moving. Any Ideas?

 

Well 2 things come to mind that are quick checks, not to insult your intelligence, fluid level and the second, have you looked at the plastic grommet underneath at the shift cable? I had to change mine a few months ago because the grommet snapped and the cable end was barely holding on and allowing the shift linkage to move when it needed to but still had the hesitation. If it is the grommet, I got mine at autozone or advance in a package of multiple sizes, the one with writing on it, fit. Good luck, I hope its one of these fixes.

 

Are you hauling something when you're trying to go in reverse? Going uphill or anything? or does is it just do it all the time?
