Default Hesitation / Miss @ 45mph while Accelerating.

Lately I have been having a hesitation or miss when accelerating, usually right about 45 mph, even worse when under a load (i.e.: going up an on-ramp). I have seen this before and I feel like it was the Spark Plugs. Could this also be the individual coils? No check-engine light this time around but this seems like a common occurrence on this engine/truck.

(2007 Ford F150 Super Crew 5.4L 2WD)

If the Coils need replaced any recommendations? My shop wanted a small fortune for them.

I had this issue worked on about a year or so ago and the #6 spark plug was fouled really bad.

Thoughts?

Time for a tune up. Also you only have to change the boots and springs on the coils, not replace the whole coil.

I had exact same issue with my 2006 5.4L. Changed the ignition coils for 1/3 of cost garage wanted. Youtube it. Not difficult to do yourself.

Yeah...everyone has this covered.
Buy updated motorcraft plugs.
Ignition coils. Your preference.
Some say Motorcraft, peeps like myself have used Amazon/Ebay to the same effect.
good luck!

Thanks. Got Motorcaft Plugs at AutoZone (about $100 for 8) and a set of Motorcraft Coils on Amazon ($235 for 8)... Should solve the issue.

Did you do the plugs also? Sometimes I dread doing plugs on a V8 cause it seems like I can never get to some of them easily.
