Default HELP...Trans issue?

Hey guys,

I am new to this site. Been reading on here for some time and have had an F150 for a long time. Here is the info. on my truck...

2006 F150 Super Cab
4.6L automatic 4x4
with a LS 3.00 highway gear in the diff.
56,000 miles

I am not quite sure how to describe my issue so I will try my best...here goes...lately (on occasion) my truck seemed like it was slipping. However, the rpm's never rose like you'd think in a traditional slipping way. So I kind of wrote it off as tire slipping and the LS rear grabing or whatever.

However, lately I have been able to make it do it. I can only get it to do it from a complete stop. When I hit the gas...half throttle or more it seems to start rolling and then almost hesitates or pauses and then hits pretty hard and starts to accelerate. Again, no climbing rpms or anythings. Its almost like the trans is sensing an over torque or something and then cutting out and reengaging. In all other instances the truck shifts and drives fine...no vibrations no noises...it up and downshifts fine when already moving and if i drive it easy the problem never occurs. Any ideas?

I have no idea what it is and am going to drop it off. The trans fluid is good and still red from the last service...the truck has no check engine lights...I can't figure it out. Thanks!

Had the same problem - mechanic traced the problem to the rear diff., apparently a problem with gears forming a sort of cold-weld, and mimicking a 'slip' when accelerating from a stop, especially if turning at the same time. Replaced a seal and replaced the diff fluid, problem solved.
