Help running to rich

Default Help running to rich

I have a 2004 ford f150 4.6l I have a code saying all banks are running rich. code came on after I put a cold air intake in with ram air my Mechanic say I have to take it out and put stock back in I don't see why it would make it rich it get a lot of air if anything it should run lean if some one can help me thanks

i put a volant in mine today and a friend said it seemed like it was running rich. i thought it was supposed to be lean also

You don't get more air with any intake. It is still a naturally aspirated motor and only takes in so much air per stroke. Whenever you change the MAF location/environment you run the risk of running an incorrect air/fuel, this can be lean or rich. Either custom tuning or leaving it stock/Gotts mod is the only way to be sure.
