Default Help Rats!

I have a furry friend that decided to move in to my 2004 F150 SCREW Lariat 4x4. It has the 5.4 engine.

He wasn't happy just to sleep there and keep his nasty little fangs to himself, he chewed through a hose. I'm thinking it's a vacuum or emissions hose but I need help identifying the correct part number.

Please take a look at the attached pictures. Anyone know what this hose is? Part number?

Also, what's the best way to reset the check engine light after the hose is replaced? Battery disconnect for 15 minutes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can replace that with 3/8" emission hose from the parts store. Just remove and reuse the factory quick fittings. Or if you're set on having the molded hose: 5L3Z-9D289-A Tube and runs about $50

Default I think you are correct

Use green rat bars from home depot to kill rats . use lots of them for a long time . They will eat wire insulation also , seems they put soy in insulation formula some years ago . We see this all the time here in fl.
A cat will help, but keep pets away from bars .

Car collectors around here use a few bars of Irish spring soap under the cover when they put them up for the winter.

Default Thanks but still got problems

Thanks for your help. I took EBC-150's advice and just got 3/8" tubing from Napa Auto Parts. Cost like $5.00! Truck is still running rough though and doesn't have full power when pushed.

Wondering if some of the nest he built out of insulation etc. could have gotten sucked up into wherever that hose was going? If you have advice as to where to look that would be awesome. Hoping not to spend a ton of money having someone diagnose this.

I guess my rat could have chewed something else, but everything looks ok to me.

Arrgghhh!
