I know I have the updated valve covers so I am hoping the phasers are the newer ones. Either way, I am going to wait to replace the VCT's until I have figured out what if anything else is ticking, and then I can do it all at once.
to be honest I don't know if it has been fixed in our years, I would do my best if ii were you to not remove the valve covers. They suck!
Have you tried a different size?

Well I know it a t27. I just can't get the shaft around the solenoid and to the bolt. There's just not enough room that I can see. If I can't though I will just take off the covers. Ya it sucks but worth it I think. And if I need to do a timing kit anyways it'll be just a little more work. Thanks!!!

okay, im not sure of your situation but it may be worth trying a 1/4 inch drive ratchet with some extensions and tape the hell out of them so nothing falls into the engine
