I am pretty sure this is referring to single din or double din. The radio in your truck is a double din radio. Each din is about 2" or 50 mm. So a double din radio has a 4" tall face.

you either need a double din, or a instal kit that will give you a space in your second din spot. The double din looks better and more stock imo but it is all preference of the owner.

I am looking at getting either the clarion cx609
or the Pioneer FH-P8000B
but that is just becuase i want bluetooth. There are guys on here with a lot of knowledge and if you search radios or headunits you can find a lot of good post from some guys to help guide you in the right direction. Also check out pics of different installs to see the look that you like (either single din with the shelf or double din)

good luck.

Well, double din will fill up the space just like your factory stereo. I went with single din myself and used an adaptor bracket to mount the stereo. The advantage to this is that I now have a smll storage area under my stereo that is perfect for my cell phone and MP3 player. So either will work fine and look great, just figure out wich one suits you best.
