Hi, Welcome to the forum!

Do I understand correctly?? When you shift into reverse, the back-up warning ( or parking sensors) disables itself?

Kinda odd 'cause that's the only time it's s'posed to be active........

How can you tell that it shuts down?

It should be silent until you get about 4 feet from an object, then start with a slow beep. the closer you get to the object, the faster the beep. a constant tone indicates you are 1 foot or less from the object. You may also get a constant tone when the tailgate is down. ( at least this is the way it works in my '06. I believe they are the same )

Maybe I misunderstand the problem............

Thanks for the reply Bob,

When I put the truck in reverse the sensor button on the dash where you can turn the sensor on and off, shuts of when the truck is in reverse. So therefore there is no slow or fast beeping sound when I am reversing, doesn't matter how far or close I am to an object.

The off button is actually lit up on the dash. I thought it may be ice on the senors in the back, and cleaned all the snow and ice off, yet I still have the same problem.

This may have been deactivated by the previous owner. I would have had this done with mine if I had the beep beep beep thing.

Just looked thru the search answers to "parking sensor"....

someone had a similar problem and traced it to a blown fuse..... the info given wasn't very specific, but it seems a new fuse corrected the problem

Do you have an owner's manual? Somewhere in there is a "road map" of the fuse panel to help you with what fuse to look at.........

Thanks Bob I'll check the fuse after work and see if that's the problem.
