Default Help me choose a lift kit!

My 2006 FX4 will be getting a lift in the next few months, I drive about 250 miles a week, all of that is on road, but occasionally I'll do some offroading. I'm new to the lifted truck world and was looking to put in a 7-8" kit. I know Rize and BDS offer a kit that is 8" but I was looking for a second opinion on a cheaper route, I want to keep the stock rake, meaning a little higher in the back than the front.

I've narrowed it down to a Rough Country 6" lift ~$1400 with the addition of skyjacker strut and add a leaf that promises 3" ~$500. Yes that means I would use both of them together. I dont go out and beat the living **** out of this truck daily, but I need it to do work when I ask. Any suggestions, opinions, comments or help would be appreciated. I'd like no more than 8" because I'd like to fit a 35" tire under it without it looking to small.

You can fit 35s on with a leveling kit i have a 9" on 35s and putting 37s on come summer but i had a 3" level with 35s for 3 years until i lifted it up more
