Default Help installing axxess steering wheel control module

Guys,

im trying to install a new stereo in my ‘06 F150 and I’m using the axxess system to control the Pioneer DMH 4660 Nex that I’m installing but it’s not working. I’ve connected the axxess adapter’s green and white wire to the truck’s blue and red stripe wire and the adapters’s power wire is connected to the trucks green and yellow stripe wire and the adapter’s ground is connected to the trucks black and green stripe wire. The adapter connects to the head unit thru a 3.5mm jack that plugs into the back. Please see attached pic.
What am I missing???

Mike

yeah I hope you getting this but yeah right there instead of going there I went there with my speed sensor of course but when I did my steering wheel I ran the one wire that went there but also grounded it separately and ran its own power wire to it too I didn't try to tie into any more of the power directly I just went direct power to that steering wheel access integrate and direct ground to that access integrated and then they worked that from time to time I have to unplug that 3.5 millimeter Jack and plug it in for the down volume and the up volume and down seek to work it's weird

personally Id disconnect that end from the wire tap and verify the connection, the tap may not be making good contact with the wire

Thanks guys. So I realized I hadn’t connected one of the wires, the one from pin 19, to ground. I connected that wire and the black ground wire to a true separate ground but it still didn’t work. I then called the axxess tech help line (pleasantly surprised they were open on a Saturday afternoon) and the guy told me to reset the unit. After doing that it seemed to work with the volume up and down buttons on the steering wheel working. I then had to quit working on it so I haven’t had a chance to test all the functions but if all I get is the volume up and down out of it I’ll be happy. Thanks for your help.

Mike
