Default Help, I'm blowing the ignition switch fuse!

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat 4x4, and I keep blowing the ignition switch fuse. What is on that circuit that I should check, and is there a common problem? The fuse blows immediately in key on position. Thanks guys!

Have you checked for wires shorted out? I had a similar situation and found a wire was rubbing against something that caused the ignition to blow fuses.

Finally took my truck to a local electrical shop. Took them two and a half days of going through wiring schematics, and then the short was intermittent after moving wiring around, but the culprit was........a wiring issue leading to the number 5 coil on plug coil. He said the coil was good, but there was an issue leading up to it. I should have my truck back early next week! I'm glad it wasn't just me missing something obvious.

Question 2006 F150 King Ranch Ignition Fuse Blows

I have a 2006 F150 King Ranch 5.4L Flex Fuel with 67K miles. Truck has been running great but recently I noticed it was shifting hard or just miss firing or something. That went on for about a week then today I attempted to start my truck and it turned over for about a second then the truck completely went dead. I then noticed that the instrument cluster was not being powered so I checked the ignition switch fuse and it was blown. I replaced the fuse then turned on the key to the ON/RUN and I had power again. I then turned key to START position and the fuse blew instantly. I am completely lost here.
Here is what I am thinking.

- I don't think it is the fuel pump since the fuse doesn't blow with the key in the ON position and at this point the Fuel pump should be running to prime the fuel line.

- I don't think it is the starter since I have disconnected the starter and turned the key to START position and it still blows the fuse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any schematics that would be a great help too. I am pretty well versed in computer electronics and wiring schematics but just cant seem to find them anywhere.

Default Most times happen

Normally the problem in that year of f150 2000’~> trucks is the cable that comes from the transmission to the steering wheel !!!! that cable burns, it is very close to the exhaust and that causes a short circuit check that cable first I have had this problem many times] with the truck f150 2000' I hope it helps someone else who is looking for related information
