Sounds like your battery is weak. Could be alternator issue or just your battery.

i think there is a switch for the park close to it. it could be bad
or maybe the brake switch
the haynes manual have the steps to check into it

I had this happen to me once before. I just got a jump and then took it to the nearest orielly's auto parts. They hooked their tester up to it and everything checked out ok...the problem hasn't happened again so I haven't worried about it. Best of luck!

Try putting the gear selector in neutral. I think you can start in neutral as well as park.

May be the battery though. A "click" would indicat the starter solinoid is recieving power, but not enough to spin the starter motor. Make sure all electrical accessories are off (even close your door. Have the donor car rev their engine a bit (high idle). What one minute then try and start your truck. A dead battery can take a few minutes to charge enough from the donor for it to have enough juice to spin the starter.
