Well, I suppose I'm not too sure, I doubt it. Mine was doing the same thing and I finally gave in and took it to the dealer, they said that my vac line solenoid was bad (had gotten water in it). I needed a new one, so I bought a new set of front hubs, and a solenoid. Less than a week later (noise never stopped) the hubs were chewed to little nubs and shards of metal. They replaced them at no cost and the solenoid and all of my vac lines. Again, chewed them to little bits... lol, they AGAIN replaced them and put in the "new" solenoid with the shield above it. Problem solved.

DIY? Likely not an easy task, but there is no better experience than trial and error.

Good luck man, let me know what you find.
