Default Help

I have a 2007 F150 with 5.4. I just replaced the coils (with aftermarket coils) and now have some problems. It starts and runs fine then down the road starts giving me computer issues. I disconnect the batter and reconnect it and it runs fine for a while then repeats. Any suggestions?

Was it running fine before the coil replacement?

You may need to find a way to read codes to find out if you have misfire or multiple cylinder misfire.

While I don't suspect new coils out o the box were bad, it's generally preferred to only replace a coil when a coil has failed, and only with OEM. Ford product coils are better than the old day of racing parts from MSD, etc.

If it ran fine before and now it doesn't you need to retrace your work.
If it ran fine before, replace all the coils with the OEM ones you removed to see if problems disappears.

Or read codes if you are able to do so and report back what code you've seen.

Default Running

It ran but was missing on the second from rear passenger side cylinder. I replaced the spark plug first and no change. (This is the cylinder that notoriously fouls out plugs in this year motor) Then I replaced coils and now have this new issue. This pack of 8 could cost same as the 1 coil from Ford which is why I went with them.
(I also checked codes and it matched with issue)

Double check to make sure they are seated right and plugs are seated right. You usally only have to replace the pne that goes bad. Think the last one I bought was ~60$

I hope you didn't throw the factory ones out 😳

I'd get codes, then put old ones back on the misfire cylinders except the original problem coil.
