Default Help

Need advice re purchasing and towing a dry weight 6714lb TT with a 2004 5.4l supercrew 4x4 lariat. live in flat dry texas and traveling to central colorado so i'm concerned about the steep grades pulling this trailer. checked the manual and numbers check out but need confirmation. we will of course be adding weight to the trailer (clothes, camping gear, etc.)

Assuming the truck is in good shape I do not think you will have any trouble. If you do not have the factory tow package make sure you install a good size transmission cooler. The tow cap. varies with the rear gear ratio and options, I have an 04 SCREW 4X4 5.4 w/ 3.73 gears stock size 18" tires and tow a 7000lb dry TT with at least another 750lb of gear and have not had an issue, just don't try to kill it going up grades and disengage the Overdrive.
