Heater Core removal

Has anyone replaced a heater core on a '08 F150 CC XLT V-8? A mechanic said it takes 8 hours. I said WHAT! It dosen't take that long to paint the truck.

I'm doing this same job soon.. Until then, it's easy to bypass the heater core by just moving the hose. At least that's what I did so it stopped leaking coolant into my cab until I can get time to do the job.
